I am planning the next week to work on skills that should improve mile times when we test again next Friday on a legit track at the Olympiad.  Today was a test to see where you are and what mistakes you need to correct to get better.  Many of us went out too fast and struggled at the end.  The mile is not about how quickly you get out but about how consistent you are through each 1/4 mile and how much you can endure to push at the end to reach and exceed your goals.  This is much like every day of our life.  We get up early and we push hard but it is important to remember to maintain that push and drive throughout the day and give that little extra towards the end with our family.  Albert Einstein said, “It’s not that I’m so smart, It’s just that I stay with the problems longer.”  This is meant to say that you don’t have to be perfect or the best but willing to endure long enough to get to the end and surpass what you though possible.
