Arrived at the Wood weather was a brisk 46 but felt like 30 with the wind.  The track looked great for The Wood Derby. Around 6:15 you can see some of the horse trailers arriving for their workout before the race.
we had a mixed bag of horses today which was great. We had Mudders,Geldings,Sprinters and Colts and for the first time ever we had some Clydesdales which was a big surprise to the field. After the horses arrived we started our warm up.

reverse Indian ruck with 10air squats and 5 merkins once Q was first in line the group did 20 Mountain climbers then continued on ruck and worked different exercises in throughout the ruck

At the halfway point we did some coupon work 1 minute on 30 seconds off

overhead press

Lawn Mowers

Bentover Rows

After that work we continued on our ruck until we arrived at the track  It was a heavy track due to the grass but short enough that it was a competitive track  The horses were chomping at the bit to get into the startIng gate. The line up for the race is as follows

Jellystone – Ruckasaurus Rex

Gofer- Papernick

Binford- SLO MOE

10-40EZ-Sneaking up from the back

Boston Butt- Ench Sea

Den Mother- DEN MUDDER

Disco Ball- Hot Rod Charlie

Bob Villa- Hoof Hearted

Hanger- Heavy Starch

like I said we had a mixed bag of horses for the race.  The horses were put into the starting block and the gate opened. The majority of the money was on Hot Rod Charlie.  As the gate opened Ruckkasaurus Rex jumped to a big lead, Hoof Hearted was right along the inside. Papernick and DEN MUDDER looked like they got loose in the turn. SLO MOE had his blinkers on and was making up some real estate.  Ehch Sea made a move in turn one to put pressure on Hot Rod Charlie who was the favorite. Don’t count out Sneaking up from the back  he has surprised fans all around that he is still bringing his A game. Into turn 4 the field has really spread out and the 2 horses that are neck and neck are Ruckasaurus Rex and Hot Rod Charlie with Heavy Starch right behind them.  It was close but looking back at the photo finish Hot Rod Charle takes the race with Ruckasaurus Rex taking 2nd place

After the race the handlers headed back to the winners circle.
