Nice cool morning at the Wood and nobody was complaining. I think we are all getting used to the cold. Toby had a beautiful new haircut and Lemon was a no-show for his introduction to the hill. Chicken.

Mosey with coupons towards hill, stop halfway for 10 blockees in cadence.
Finish mosey to the north side of the hill.
Four stations around the hill.
Station #1: 20 overhead press + 30 curls. Leave coupons. Run to east side (front) of hill.
Station#2: 20 hand-release merkins + 30 speed skaters. Bernie Sanders up hill, crawl bear down back side.
Station #3: 20 Carolina dry docks + 30 side lunges. Run along back path to south side of hill.
Station #4: 20 wine mixers + 30 LBC’s. Sprint up south side of hill, then run along the peak and down to the bottom of the north side (station #1).
Rinse and repeat…and repeat.
At 5:52 everybody met at station #1 and we began the mosey back to the flags…stopping halfway for 10 more blockees in cadence.

I think a CoT should be thoughtful, and I believe it is thoughtful to be thankful—so I like to share what I am thankful for when I’m on Q. Today I am thankful for hard times. Sounds a little crazy, but it’s true. Things have been very good for me the past several months. Sometimes I’m am ashamed to admit it because I know so many are facing challenges due to the pandemic. But my family has been great and I’ve never felt better. Life was good. But the past week has been very difficult and I understand when that happens—no matter the cause—it is easy to slip into a funk, become depressed and/or lose a grip on perspective. But I am thankful for these times. I believe the most life-affirming thought one can have is to will they re-live their life EXACTLY the way it is lived. Every detail, every thought, every good moment, every bad, every laugh, every tear…everything exactly the same. To will such a thing during one’s most trying times is the true sign of strength. If you have once experienced a tremendous moment, something so positive and strong that you desire to live it again, then you can bear all the other hardships and challenges because they have led—and will lead—to those positive moments. Enjoy the hard times. It’s not easy to do so while in the moment, but having this perspective can have tremendously positive effects during trying times.

Not sure what it means when you plan a good workout, but the most memorable aspect is the blockees you have everybody do on the way to the workout! Definitely needed music…the sound of grunting wasn’t a motivating factor this morning.
