In the 1940’s a 65 year old man from Kentucky was living off a $99 a month Social Security check. He had a tiny house & a beat-up car and wanted to make a change. He thought of all the things of value that he could offer an employer and the only thing he could come up with was every time he made his chicken recipe his friends & family would come over and enjoy it. So, he drove from state to state trying to sell his chicken recipe. He even decided to tell the restaurants that he would give them the recipe for free and just take proceeds from the sale of the chicken. A lot of restaurants turned down his proposal. 1009 restaurants, to be exact. But the 1,010th restaurant decided to take him up on his offer. His name was Colonel Harland Sanders. If he would have given up after 300, 600 or 900 attempts…we’d never know what KFC is.

In 1960 four boys from England were in a band and submitted their album to England’s top 2 record labels. Both record labels denied the band based on the fact that they used improper English in one of their songs. The band decided instead to start their own record label. The song in question went: “She loves you, yeah yeah yeah”. After the creation of their own “Apple Records” the number 1 & number 2 record labels in England became the number 2 & number 3 record labels in England, as the Beatles “Apple Records” became number 1 with hits like “She Loves You”

Falling down, getting knocked down, dropping to your knees, crawling, crying…that’s not failing. Giving up is failure. Don’t. Give. Up!
