Got out to the site at 4:20 and set up the stations.  Weather was perfect.  Thanks to Den Mother for having my 6 as Site Q.   Thanks to even one who came out today and  helped each to push ourselves.

The Thangs

Thang 1:Station 1 – 15 curls/Skull crushers/Bent over rows then 5 thrusters Station 2 – 15 merkins and big boys Station 3 – 10 merkins and big boys Station 4 – 5 merkins and big boys distance between 1-2 = 0.05 miles 1-3 = 0.1 miles 1-4 = 0.12 miles the ladders were like so 1-2-1, 1-3-1, 1-4-1 We ran about 1.6 miles total.

Circle of Trust (CoT)

For the COT, I want to start with this quote,

“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward.  So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great.”

It’s really easy to get down when things aren’t going your way.  You can choose to stay there drowning in your sorrows or to pull yourself out of that funk.  Keeping your eye on that light at the end of the tunnel and taking it each step at a time.  Just break it down into small victories and it helps to keep pushing through the difficult times.  

When running long distance races, it might be focusing on a landmark up a ways and to keep pushing to get to it.  Then you pick another landmark up ahead such as a tree or building.  Meeting these smaller victories are easier than trying to keep focusing on that big one like “I have 13 more miles”.  The 13 miles goes much quicker if you can focus on a tree about a half mile down the path and then maybe a bench about 0.4 miles down and then a fork in the path 0.6 miles.  Pretty soon you are at your goal and it was mentally easier as a series of smaller victories than focusing on the whole big distance.

OR in our personal lives with our M’s, you might feel like you haven’t had a chance to connect with your M as much lately with kid sports and activities.  Trying to get an entire weekend to reconnect with the M is the huge task which is extremely difficult to pull off that often.  Breaking it into smaller things like spending 30 minutes walking/talking with her or sitting on the patio after dinner for 10 minutes and talking while the kids are playing in the backyard.  

My challenge to you is to try and use this mindset the next time when facing a seemingly difficult task.  Maybe between stations of one of my kickass workouts.  Just kidding.  You can use this mindset on anything.
